  • Yes, I am currently an in-network provider with BCBS of NE. Please inquire about other major insurances.

BUT, your insurance plan can only be used if your presenting concern and symptoms meet the criteria for a medical necessity—i.e. a diagnosis/reason for seeking therapy—and not all diagnosis are accepted by insurance AND not everyone wants to have a diagnosis on their medical record.

In order for insurance to be used you must meet the requirements for a mental health diagnosis and the diagnosis becomes a part of your mental health profile. Your insurance will dictate this based on diagnosis.

I like to give my clients options. Your choice-private pay or insurance.

  • Not sure you want to use insurance and have the diagnosis?

There are many benefits to private pay (even if you have insurance) in the counseling process including:

    * Freedom in choosing a counselor that is a good fit for you

*Receiving counseling services for needs that aren't "billable" to insurance, such as relationship concerns, communication needs, or a variety of other personal issues.

*Your counselor will not be required to assign a mental health diagnosis that is a part of your medical record.

*The total number of sessions and session frequency will not be dictated by your insurance company.

*Having more flexibility in creating your goals for counseling.

Some insurance companies will cover therapeutic services as an out-of-network provider but it is your responsibility to check with your insurance provider. I can provide a “super bill” that you could submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please call your insurance to find out what reimbursement will look like for you. description

  • Check out this page to give you more information on how to talk to your insurance about out-of-network providers.

    Hope this helps!

  • Private pay means the client is responsible for paying for all service fees.

The service is not run through insurance.

Check out the benefits to NOT using insurance.

  • Private Pay or out-of-network payments can be made with a major credit card, debit card FSA or HSA account card.

Your payment will be processed in full at the end of your counseling session.

The credit card you placed on file to secure your initial appointment will be charged through the secure online client portal system.

For clients using insurance, your insurance company will be billed directly, and then you are then billed for whatever deductible amount/coinsurance your plan does not cover. Copay will be collected at each session (if applicable).

  • If you would like to use your insurance but I am not your network, your company may cover our sessions at an out-of-network rate.

I am happy to provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance.

A super bill is a detailed record of payment with special codes for what kind of service was provided along with our license numbers. Please call your insurance to find out what reimbursement will look like for you.

  • You can cancel or reschedule a counseling appointment, via the client portal or by calling or texting me-as long as you provide 24 hours notice.

If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice you will be charged a $50 late cancellation fee. If you no show/fail to show up, you will be charged the full session amount for the missed appointment.

If you have questions about the cancellation policy you can discuss them during your first appointment.

  • Don't let the private pay rate discourage you from contacting me! I've found that more often than not I'm able to come up with an acceptable arrangement with most people.

Even when this isn’t the case, I've been able to refer folks to therapists who may be able to accommodate your financial situation.

Under the “No Surprises Act”, mental health clinicians that are out-of-network are required to provide notice of the Good Faith Estimate – click here for the notice.
